End of Evangelion is too depressing?

ok, yes it was depressing, but there is a reason to that. It has to do with adam and eve and starting a new race at the end of the anime. You really have to look in between the lines in this anime. Plus there is better anime out there that is less depressing. Such as FMA:Brotherhood my favorite anime series.
