Please help....something is wrong with my dog and I don't know how to solve it.?

While I was sleeping my dog slowly woke me out of my sleep. I noticed she was madly licking her chomps and wouldn't stop. Like she was trying to clear her throat. Then she started madly licking the carpet. I got up and got some water for her. However she wouldn't drink it. She seemed very antsy so I let her out hoping she might go potty, but instead she started ravenously eating the gr. I called her back in for she was whimpering while doing this. She kept trying to clear her throat but was then slightly whimpering each time. I eased water down her throat and that seemed to help. However, something is still stuck in her throat. Is there anything I can give her to remove it?? I'm uming what is in her throat is dog hair, since she licked the carpet like mad. Thanks in advance.
