How big should a saltwater tank be?

i have had freshwater tanks my whole life and i want to start up a saltwater tank. I would just have smaller fish like gobies, damsels, and maybe a clownfish. so what would be a good tank size for someone that is experienced with fish tanks but a beginner with saltwater?
