Since when did the conservatism go from guys like William Buckley and Daniel Patrick Moynihan to Sarah Palin ?

When did the anti-intellectualism aspect arise? You guys used to be the party of elitist intellectuals and now you guys celebrate someone who takes pride in being ignorant? I don't get it.
